Welcome to Mayor Sheila Dixon’s Initiative for a Cleaner Greener Baltimore
Mayor Dixon is asking us to “face the dirty facts.” Baltimore is not as clean and green as it should be.
Mayor Dixon’s Initiative calls on each of us to take the initiative and keep our home – the City of Baltimore – clean and green. Our responsibilities do not stop at the doorstep of our houses, our offices or our places of worship.
Everyone - City residents, businesses, daily commuters and students – has been guilty of litter transgressions. How many of us have overloaded plastic trash bags instead of filling lidded cans? How many have witnessed someone cleaning out their car by dumping all their debris into the street gutter? How many toss wrappers, cigarette butts, or gum, on the ground and don’t consider it littering?
We need to take personal responsibility for our actions and inactions because we all benefit from a cleaner, greener Baltimore.
